Earth Day 2021

Earth Day is a celebration of what our world has to offer and a reminder we all have a responsibility to care for it, and to look after its precious gifts. It is a movement that started in 1970 and continues to inspire, lead and direct environmental activism and mobilization today.

Our Promise to the Planet

At Amly we tread carefully. We make our products slowly and thoughtfully. The wildflower meadows, the hedgerows, the ancient woodland and the spring waters of Hawthbush Farm are our resource and we want not only to preserve them, but to shine a light on their conservation. As the custodians of this precious land we believe it is our responsibility to do more than simply sustain the environment; we aim to enhance it. We are returning cultivated land to the wild, and taking care while we share its goodness not to deplete it. We use clean ingredients and making methods and our products and packaging are made close to source in the South East of England. Boxes, bottles and labels are created from fully recyclable materials.

Our connection to the land and its fruit has influenced our beauty line. We crafted a collection of everyday essentials that echoes the natural union of the plants, flowers and mineral-rich water that were discovered around the farm, combining the natural gifts with cutting edge research to nourish and enhance the skin.

Tips on how to stay connected to Earth

We now know the benefits being in nature can bring so we recommend practices that keep a regular earth connection. Kick off your shoes and try barefoot walking, get your hands in the soil and sow a few wildflowers or simply lay on the grass.
These simple practices can reduce inflammation, stress hormones and pain in the body; while rejuvenating your energy, and aiding sleep.

Wherever you are in the world, the soothing scent of our botanical treasures may well transport you back to the meadow where it all began.

Drink in the wild air, swim in the sunlight, bathe in the forest.
Each time we let the wild speak to us and through us, we open a little deeper to what the earth can offer, and to what it may need.

Our Support to Plantlife

Plantlife is a British conservation charity working nationally and internationally to save threatened wild flowers, plants and fungi. They own nearly 4,500 acres of nature reserve across England, Scotland and Wales. They have 11,000 members and supporters and HRH The Prince of Wales is our Patron.

We donate 1% of sales from our Cleansing Balm & Mask to PlantLife to fund the planting of wildflowers. With only 2% of indigenous wildflower meadows still in existence, at AMLY we consider it a huge honour to be custodians of this ancient land. From generation to generation it’s been lovingly preserved, and to this day remains in its natural state and completely untouched by pesticides.

A message for the future

By listening deeply, growing slowly, supporting local businesses and indigenous plants, we’ve forged authentic, thriving relationships with our family of alchemists, artists, plants, growers, suppliers, sellers and customers. By tending to these treasured connections it’s easy for us to make ethical, sustainable decisions at every step in our process to ensure we keep our commitment to the natural world, to our customers and each other.
